Project: architectural lighting, Neighbourhood Energy Utility (NEU), Southeast False Creek, Vancouver BC
We were very proud to work with Sandwell Engineering on the manufacturing and installation of the “fingernails” on the flue stacks of this innovative LEED Gold certified community energy system. The energy centre’s five 22-meter stainless steel exhaust stacks were cleverly designed by Pechet and Robb Studio to look like the fingers of a hand.
The fingernail on each stack is actually an LED panel that is programmed to change color from blue to red depending on the amount of green energy being produced.
Engineer: Sandwell Engineering
Designer: Pechet and Robb Art and Architecture
Installation: Knight Signs
